professional longarm quilting service

About TekStil Crave

I offer professional, digital edge-to-edge quilting from my home studio in Minneapolis, MN. near Lake Nokomis. While my longarm studio is not open to the public, if you are in the greater Twin Cities area, quilts can be dropped off at my home. Shipping your quilt to me is another option, I am happy to help you navigate that as well.

I would love to help you choose an all-over quilting design that makes your quilt shine. Whether this is your first or your 50th quilt, modern or traditional, I can help you to get it finished. See my digital quilting pantograph designs for ideas – Then feel free to fill out my Quilt Request Form to begin the conversation, or contact me here if you have questions.

Services & Pricing

+ EDGE TO EDGE Quilting

I provide exclusively digital edge-to-edge quilting.

In other words, a repeated design that is consistent across the quilt, but carefully scaled and oriented to provide a beautiful seamless appearance.

.03 / Sq inch Includes thread!

Example: Quilt width x height 60” x 70" = 4,200 square inches 4,200 x $0.03 = $126.00

Minimum Edge-to-Edge Quilting Charge: $60.00 For very small quilts, pillow covers, etc., the per/inch price will be rounded up to the minimum quilting price.

+ THREAD

I use only top-quality machine quilting thread. Hab+Dash's Glide thread #40 or Superior Thread's So Fine! Generally I recommend using a thread color that blends with the lightest dominant color. However, if bold contrast is your thing, let’s talk! It’s your quilt after all.

Thread is included in the quilting per inch fee.

+ BATTING

The quality of batting makes a difference! I stock Quilters Dream (QD) in their most popular 100% cotton and cotton/poly batts slightly less than retail price. I also frequently stock QD Bamboo blend. Let me know if you are interested in a wool option, as I can often source this as well!

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price. You can buy batting from me or provide your own quilt-shop quality batting. If you have questions, just let me know. When providing your own batting via mail, consider the additional shipping cost. Also, please ensure batting provided is one continuous piece.

• $0.36 per linear inch QD 100% cotton midloft

• $0.33 per linear inch QD 80/20 cotton/poly midloft

• $0.37 per linear inch QD Dream Bamboo

• $0.30 per linear inch Warm & White 100% cotton

+ BASTING

With the longarm, I can baste stitch your quilt top, batting and backing together, with alternating horizontal / vertical lines set approximately 4” apart. Again, you can purchase batting from me, or provide your own.

For hand-quilters, or those of you that love to do their own quilting on your home machine, this is the coolest thing since sliced bread!

Alternating direction 0.015 / sq inch

The minimum charge for basting is $50

+ BINDING

If you have prepared binding, I can attach to the front of you quilt, ready for you to hand or machine stitch to the back.

+ SHIPPING

Shipping is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

Once I receive a Quilt Request or Contact Me request I will reply with my address and mobile number. If you live in the Minneapolis-St Paul metro area, you can drop off your quilt at my home studio, in south Minneapolis, near Lake Nokomis. For those of you out of state, shipping can be surprisingly inexpensive. USPS Priority & Flat Rate include $50 insurance and basic tracking. You can opt for additional insurance, tracking, or delivery confirmation.

The return shipping charge will be included on your invoice, along with the tracking number.

+ OTHER SERVICES

Consultation/estimate – Free, my pleasure!

Trimming: After quilting is complete. I will verify quality of the entire quilt, stitching, tension, etc. I will trim your quilt, leaving a one-half to one inch margin, and return the scraps to you.

Once I've weighed and packaged your quilt, I will calculate the least expensive shipping method and add shipping cost and any additional insurance you have requested to your invoice. I will provide you with a completed invoice - Once invoice is paid, I will promptly ship and provide tracking confirmation.
